OpenAI has launched Meetings, a new ChatGPT capability designed to automatically capture and organize information from meetings and conversations.
Available to Pro and Business users on macOS, the feature can record audio from calls or in-person discussions, then generate personalized summaries and identify important next steps. The resulting notes are saved privately within ChatGPT Space, making them easier to revisit and use for follow-up tasks.
Meetings can also work with connected applications, allowing relevant documents, files and people to be referenced alongside meeting notes. This could help users turn conversations into practical outputs such as follow-up emails, project updates and task lists without manually reconstructing what was discussed.
OpenAI says audio recordings are deleted after processing, while early users have highlighted the potential productivity benefits. As with any meeting-recording technology, however, organizations need to consider appropriate consent and privacy practices when recording other participants.
The launch represents a broader evolution of ChatGPT from a conversational AI tool into a productivity workspace that can capture information, understand context and help complete work afterward.
For businesses and agencies, this could reduce administrative work and make it easier to turn meetings into actionable workflows.
