WhatsApp is rolling out a new feature that gives users direct access to their Instagram and Facebook media from within the app. The feature is currently available to some beta testers on the latest Android and iOS versions and is being expanded gradually.
To use it, users need to connect WhatsApp to Meta’s Accounts Center. Once linked, Instagram and Facebook appear as additional sources in WhatsApp’s media picker. Users can browse and select content including Stories, posts and Reels, then share it directly in chats or through WhatsApp Status.
The feature builds on WhatsApp’s existing Accounts Center integration, which Meta introduced to enable cross-platform experiences while keeping the connection optional. Meta says personal WhatsApp messages and calls remain end-to-end encrypted.
For creators and businesses managing content across Meta platforms, the update could simplify content reuse by removing the need to download or switch between apps before sharing previously published media.
The rollout is gradual, and WhatsApp has not yet announced when the feature will become available to everyone.
