Google Brings Claude 5.5 Models to Antigravity for Paid Users
Google is expanding Antigravity with Anthropic’s Claude 5.5 Opus and Sonnet models, giving paid users more frontier AI choices while signaling stronger competition between major AI platforms.
Google has added Anthropic’s latest Claude 5.5 models to Antigravity, its agentic AI development platform, giving paid Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers access to rival frontier models alongside Gemini.
Users can now select Claude Opus 5.5 and Claude Sonnet 5.5 directly within Antigravity. Google’s own Gemini models will continue to remain available across plans. Meanwhile, older options including Claude 4.6 and GPT-OSS-120B are scheduled to disappear from Antigravity on November 2, 2026.
The update highlights a growing trend in AI platforms: instead of locking users into a single model family, platforms are increasingly offering multiple leading models within the same workflow.
For developers, marketers and businesses using AI agents, this could make model selection more flexible based on reasoning, coding, speed and task requirements. Antigravity’s Varun Mohan has also hinted at a broader rollout of Google’s Gemini 4 Argon.
Overall, the move strengthens competition between Google, Anthropic and OpenAI while giving users more choice in agentic AI workflows.
