Grok Bot is introducing Team Bots, a new way for teams to create shared AI assistants designed around specific roles and workflows. The feature extends Grok Bot’s existing concept of persistent AI teammates that can use software and complete multi-step work.
A Team Bot can be configured with instructions, files, skills, app connections and credentials needed for a particular role. Integrations can connect the Bot to tools such as Salesforce, Notion and GitHub, allowing it to work with information and workflows that teams already use.
The Bots can also operate inside Slack, giving team members a shared AI colleague they can interact with in a channel. Importantly, individual conversations remain private. Team-wide knowledge can be retained by the Bot while personal interactions are kept separate.
The concept can be applied to roles across sales, marketing, product management, engineering and analytics. A marketing Bot, for example, could apply brand guidelines to content, while a sales Bot could help prepare account briefings or work with CRM information.
This represents a shift from giving every employee a separate AI assistant toward creating shared AI workers with defined responsibilities. Instead of repeatedly explaining company processes to individual assistants, teams can build a Bot around a workflow and allow multiple people to use it.
Grok Bot’s broader platform already supports persistent cloud computers, allowing Bots to interact with websites, applications, files and terminals and continue working on tasks after a user leaves their computer.
For businesses, the combination of shared context, integrations and persistent agents could make AI more useful for repeatable operational work.
