Google has launched Nano Banana 2.1, a new image-generation model built on its Gemini 3.6 Flash architecture. The update focuses on making AI-generated visuals faster, more accurate and easier to control.
According to early reports, Nano Banana 2.1 improves several areas compared with previous versions, including visual design, mask-based editing, realism and subject consistency. This makes the model particularly useful for creators working on characters, branded visuals and image variations where maintaining the same subject across multiple generations is important.
The model is now available through Google AI Studio, the Gemini app, Google Flow and APIs, giving both everyday creators and developers access to the technology. It supports image generation from 1K through 4K resolution, with pricing starting around $0.034 for a 1K image.
Early testers have highlighted its prompt-following accuracy and generation speed, although some users are reportedly looking for a more powerful Pro-level version.
For marketers, designers and content creators, Nano Banana 2.1 could make high-volume creative production more affordable while reducing the time needed for image editing and iteration.
