ChatGPT Voice Gets a Major Upgrade for Hands-Free Workflows
OpenAI has expanded ChatGPT Voice with connected apps and Work capabilities, making it possible to manage tasks, access information and create business documents through natural voice conversations.
OpenAI is turning ChatGPT Voice into a more capable hands-free productivity tool. In its latest update, Voice can work with supported plugins and connected apps, while ChatGPT Work allows users to use voice commands for tasks such as creating documents, presentations and spreadsheets.
The update also brings Voice into Work across web and mobile, allowing users to speak naturally, interrupt conversations and ask ChatGPT to coordinate longer, multi-step tasks. Connected apps can provide access to information and actions based on the permissions available to the user.
For marketers, business owners and creators, this could make AI workflows more practical when typing or working from a screen isn’t convenient. Imagine discussing a task while walking, asking ChatGPT to check relevant information, prepare a document and continue unfinished work after the voice conversation ends.
OpenAI has also introduced GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna for Work and Codex, while GPT-6 Astra focuses on complex work, coding, research and computer-use capabilities.
The bigger shift is clear: AI assistants are moving beyond answering questions toward executing multi-step work through natural conversation.
